Description
Within the IMRPOVED project UGent built the IMRPOVED containerized water treatment pilots. During the project we tested reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, ion exchange, activated carbon, membrane distillation, electrodialysis and advanced oxidation process at BASF Antwerp, Yara Sluiskill, and Dow Terneuzen. We trialed the most promising water treament options for condensates and Biesbosch river water.
Moving further, in the AquaSPICE project we tested the same pilots, but now with even more technologies. We added closed cirquit RO (CCRO), electrodeionization (EDI, CEDI) and coagulation flocculaiton. We managed to test water even outside of BeNeLux when the containers went to Dow Böhlen in Germany. We have vast practical and theoretical experience with water treatment and proven safety track record.
